Software Quality Assurance SMTS

Responsibility
Assist the QA Manager in ensuring process definition, QMS review & audits, enterprise wide QMS implementation, SQA's support project teams and support teams in adopting and adapting QMS for carrying out their functions, in compliance with standards, and facilitating continuous improvement of processes, productivity and tracking through metrics. At least 2 yrs of auditing experience. Good understanding of statistical process control concepts. Hands on experience in any statistical tools

  • Independently take charge and ownership of definition and implementation of Software Quality Assurance (SQA) procedures across the organization and work products spread across multiple projects.
  • Work with the project/function team leader and others to ensure objectives of improvement and met. Participate in the creation of an SQA plan for each project/process which defines processes and work products to be audited.
  • Should be able to provide guidance, coaching and mentoring during project start-up, facilitate the review of project plans, participate in project status review meetings and ensure that project issues and non-compliances are escalated to management as necessary
  • Good knowledge of Software Engineering, QC Techniques, Development methodologies, SPC techniques and Metrics Management
  • Good exposure to project management, Tools used in software development and process management(process mapping Visio, Configuration mgmt tools, Defect tracking tools, MS Project etc)
  • Experience with software process improvement.
  • Experience with product specification and requirements traceability.  
  • Knowledge of standard testing techniques and quality processes.
  • Ability to train and mentor team members on new and existing processes/technologies
  • Excellent problem solving abilities, detail orientation, and diagnostic abilities.
  • At least 2 - 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Briefs/conducts training sessions on the process improvement and the tools to be used after the QMS release.
  • Supports/Assists PL and PM in improvement of project process.
  • Superior oral and written communications skills.

Desired Profile

B.E, B.Tech /M.C.A. (Full Time) with 4-6 years min. in reputed Software Company where quality improvement-implementation was a continuous process. Practical exposure of all levels of CMMI is desirable, as the company has plans to get CMMI certified by end of 2008.

REQUIRED EXPERTISE

1. Hands on experience with Quality frameworks like ISO, CMMI
2. SQA and/or SEPG experience
3. Process definition and implementation experience
4. SQC techniques desirable.
