Alerts and Notifications
MetricStream Document Management module extensively utilizes email as a mechanism for delivering event-based notifications, assignments, alerts, and escalations to ensure timely completion of tasks.

Audit Trails
MetricStream solution records all document access and modifications within the system, including user and system data. Any records, document, or data field changes results in an auditable record available through audit trail reports.

Access Controls
MetricStream Document Management module provides multi-level role-based access controls essential for companies with multiple locations, product lines, and business units. User access is based on Access Groups that refer to logical groupings of users who belong in certain functions or titles, for example, quality, audits, production, finance, etc. Each document category can be assigned different access groups with different access rights.

Configurable Lifecycles
Automated process flows can be created for routing of documents through stages for create, review, approve, and archive processes. Each document types and categories can be assigned an appropriate life cycle.

Document Search
The solution provides powerful search based on document metadata, full text search as well as advanced search using Boolean operators and nested queries.

Module Integration
The Document Management module integrates seamlessly with other MetricStream modules for creating a closed loop system. Document changes can be initiated as a result of issue remediation or document revisions, such as a policy changes, can trigger training requests for the affected employees.

Reports Wizard
In addition to the standard reports available out-of-the-box in the solution, end-users can build custom reports using the simple Reports Wizard without any programming. The solution also supports automated generation of reports in standard file formats such as MS Word, MS Excel, and Adobe PDF in configurable layouts.
