Ron Cathcart - Former EVP and Chief Risk Officer of Washington Mutual
Ronald Cathcart, was until April 2008, the Chief Enterprise Risk Officer for Washington Mutual, the largest thrift in the US with $300B in assets, a 2200 branch network and nationwide lending/administrative offices engaged in consumer and commercial banking services, credit cards, commercial real estate financing, and home loans. Mr. Cathcart had oversight of all aspects of risk in the organization including, credit, market, operational, compliance, regulatory and internal audit. Prior to joining WaMu in 2005, Mr. Cathcart was the EVP, Retail Risk Management for CIBC. Earlier, he served in a variety of risk management positions at Bank One from 1999 to 2002, including EVP and Chief Risk Officer of Retail.
