ISO 9000 - An Integrated Approach

Abstract: Developed to improve quality in the manufacturing industry, ISO 9000 has been successfully extended across the services industry and government. The quality management system standard is issued by the International Standards Organization (ISO) to ensure quality in products/services. The primary focus of ISO 9000 is on a proactive approach to prevent defects or errors or deficiencies in manufacture of products or provision of services. Current estimates indicate more than 40,000 ISO registrations in the US alone, with this number on the increase each month.
