Year after year, the MetricStream GRC Summit grows bigger and better! This June 4th-7th, we assembled an incredible lineup of speakers at the Gaylord National Resort in the Washington DC area. These experts, along with industry analysts, and MetricStream customers, employees, partners, came together to empower decision-makers across industries with the right risk and regulatory intelligence to help them stay ahead of the competition.<
On the first day of the event, MetricStream CEO, Shellye Archambeau opened the summit by highlighting that in our increasingly disruptive world, organizations are looking for GRC champions – people that have the knowledge, skills, fortitude, and tools to drive the business forward. This was followed by an enlightening keynote by Gordon Smith, CEO of Chase Consumer & Community Banking, who highlighted and emphasized on keeping things SIMPLE and to look at everything through the customer point of view.
The event also featured award-winning journalist and Managing Editor (US) of Financial Times, Gillian Tett who spoke about the need to break down silos by using data more effectively. We also heard from David Laufman, Chief, Counterintelligence and Export Control Section at U.S. Department of Justice who spoke on the importance of public-private partnerships to respond to growing business threats. Ronald Williams, former Chairman and CEO of Aetna Inc., and Board Director at American Express, Boeing, and Johnson & Johnson spoke about managing the pace of attitudinal changes and transformation and staying connected to how customers are evolving.
MetricStream Executive Chairman Gunjan Sinha spoke about three mega trends that are transforming today’s business: the voice of the customer, the power of now and the age of Artificial Intelligence. On the final day of the event, Admiral James Stavridis addressed the crowd on the most pressing global security issues including geopolitical disruptions and nation-state cyber-attacks. He placed special emphasis on everyone coming together and working collectively to address these issues.
In conclusion, we saw the very best and brightest minds in the GRC world come together to share their experiences, journeys, and lessons learned, in a truly collaborative way.
