November 28, 2016 | Palo Alto, California: MetricStream, a market leader in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) apps and solutions, presented the GRC Practice Leader Award to Marc Voirin, Risk Map Officer at EDF. The ceremony was held at the MetricStream GRC Summit, which took place on November 7-8, 2016 at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London. The other recipients of the GRC Practice Leader Award were Daniel Sprich, Solution Manager, Global Operations at BP, Dirk Roels, Director, Quality Assurance Analysis at Johnson & Johnson, and Moataz El Kasaby, Head of Operational Risk, BCM, and InfoSec Division at Qatar Islamic Bank.

The MetricStream GRC Journey Awards celebrate and recognize individuals, customers, and partners who are leading their organization’s GRC Journey, championing GRC programs, and achieving superior business performance through GRC. A total of ten awards were presented in four categories – GRC Journey Awards, GRC Visionary Awards, GRC Practice Leader Awards, and GRC Partner Awards. Presenting the awards were MetricStream Executive Chairman, Gunjan Sinha, and Chief Operating Officer, Gaurav Kapoor.

The GRC Practice Leader Award category recognizes individuals who are passionate about and responsible for driving the implementation and adoption of GRC programs across the organization. Backed by a deep expertise in GRC, practice leaders understand the organization’s GRC vision, and lead its implementation. Moreover, they are always willing to share best practices with the industry, and to collaborate with teams to find solutions to common GRC challenges.

Mr. Voirin won the GRC Practice Leader Award for his role in driving an automated and integrated approach to risk management at EDF. With a global view of the group’s risk map, Marc is responsible for identifying the major risks to the group, analyzing risk information, and delivering relevant risk insights to the group’s governance committee. Under his leadership, EDF has successfully made the shift from manual, spreadsheet-driven risk assessment processes, to an approach that is automated and enabled by technology. Throughout this shift, Mr. Voirin played the role of a business and functional stakeholder, as well as project manager. His deep understanding of business user needs helped ensure that the implementation of the risk management solution was smooth and effective.

“I am pleased to receive this award on behalf of the EDF Group,” said Marc. “It is an honor for me, and a strong recognition of the work performed by both the EDF team and the MetricStream team on our risk management project. We embarked on our GRC journey to drive greater efficiency in risk assessments, and to deliver faster, better risk insights. We’ve already begun experiencing these benefits, and we are excited for many successes together in the future.”

“It is our privilege to recognize Mr. Voirin with this award,” said Gunjan Sinha, Executive Chairman, MetricStream. He continued, “The improvements in EDF’s risk management processes are a testament to Mr. Voirin’s perseverance, as well as the support and backing of the EDF Group. With Mr. Voirin at the helm, EDF is on track towards setting a new benchmark in how companies should anticipate and respond to their risks.”
