October 04, 2010 | Palo Alto, California: MetricStream, Inc., the market leader in enterprise-wide Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) solutions, today announced that its CEO, Shellye Archambeau, has been invited to the Women's Entrepreneurship Conference being organized by the White House Council on Women and Girls, the Small Business Administration, the Department of Commerce and the Department of Treasury. The conference will be held on Monday, October 4, 2010 at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building in Washington, D.C.

The Obama Administration recognizes that entrepreneurs and small businesses are the engines of economic growth. Over the past two decades, women entrepreneurs have grown in number and strength and are now key contributors to the global economy. On March 11, 2009, President Obama signed an Executive Order creating the White House Council on Women and Girls. The Council's role is to act as a liaison between various government agencies on how their policies and programs impact women and their families. The Council includes not only federal agencies, but also various offices of the White House, which are working together to advance the work of the Council and to support the Administration’s work on women and girls. The Women’s Entrepreneurship Conference will address some critical challenges and highlight the opportunities and public policy initiatives that are needed to optimize the potential of women entrepreneurs.

Joining the distinguished business leaders and government experts at the conference is Ms. Archambeau.
