March 15, 2013 | Palo Alto, California: MetricStream, the market leader in enterprise-wide Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) solutions will be moderating a panel discussion, "The Year Ahead for Operational Risk" at the 15th Annual OpRisk North American Conference taking place from March 18-21st 2013, in New York City. Hosted by Operational Risk & Regulation Magazine, the conference will bring together senior operational risk management professionals from leading companies around the world. MetricStream will also demonstrate its industry-leading, web-based, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Operational Risk Management (ORM) applications at the event.

Regulatory complexity is fundamentally changing our current business landscape. The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Basel III rules are expected to significantly impact existing practices, and businesses need to pre-empt the changes to avoid disruption to their day-to-day business operations. In our uncertain environment, organizations are looking to technology systems that allow regulatory changes to be implemented easily across the organization's risk programs.

Keeping with the important themes of the conference, the MetricStream hosted panel discussion will revolve around how the industry is evolving, the current developments in Operational Risk, the risks to watch out for, and priorities for banks and financial institutions in 2013. The panel will consist of experts Mark D'Arcy, Vice President of Operational Risk at Goldman Sachs, Craig Spielmann, the Head of Operational Risk at RBS Americas, Kay Rahardjo, Senior Vice President and Chief Operational Risk Officer at The Hartford and Jodi L. Richard, the EVP and Regional Head of Operational Risk and Control at HSBC (North America).

During this two-day conference, professionals will be able to network with their peers and industry leaders to learn from each other's experiences and come away with actionable insights that address today's challenges. Business leaders will also be able to benchmark their own practices and processes with those of industry leaders, which will help improve their organization's operational risk management practices.

At the event, MetricStream will also demonstrate its ORM and ERM solutions, which consist of a common GRC framework that enables organizations to identify, document, and analyze risks, define controls, and conduct internal audits. Both the ORM and ERM solutions cover related data and processes including a reusable library of risks and their corresponding controls and assessments, results from individual assessments, key risk indicators, events such as losses and near-misses, and also possesses the capability to issue remedial plans from an integrated framework.
