The use of conflict minerals is subject to increasing scrutiny from regulators and the public at large. The new SEC conflict minerals rule requires that publicly traded organizations submit their first conflict minerals report by May 2014.

To assist organizations in this endeavor, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recently released twelve FAQs related to disclosure regarding the use of conflict minerals, and nine FAQs relating to disclosure of payments by resource extraction issuers.

In response to these new reporting requirements, organizations are putting in place a conflict minerals management program for 2013. Adopting a risk-based approach will enable organizations to proactively respond to the compliance and reporting guidelines. In doing so, organizations will not only ensure compliance with the conflict minerals regulation, but can also collect valuable inputs on their supply chain performance throughout the process.

Join experts Joseph DeVita, Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP; Kelvin Harris, Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP; Bradley Artigue, Senior Director of ComplianceOnline Advisory Services at MetricStream; and Piyush Kothari, Product Marketing Manager at MetricStream during this webinar, as they tackle important issues with regards to conflict minerals, such as:

  • Deriving key efficiencies from the yearly exercise
