October 29, 2013 | Palo Alto, California: A leading broad line supplier of maintenance, repair, and operating products catering to a wide array of businesses and institutions across the world, has selected MetricStream for a comprehensive conflict minerals software solution. Along with the solution, MetricStream will provide a complete suite of implementation and support services to help the company and its suppliers meet various conflict minerals reporting mandates of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.

MetricStream will support the Fortune 500 company as they develop a sustainable conflict minerals management program, build out a flexible and scalable compliance infrastructure across the company’s business units and global locations, and devise an effective implementation roadmap. MetricStream consultants and supplier management experts will help the company navigate the extensive compliance exercise by implementation workshops, supplier surveys and assessments, and provide online support and training services.

To kick off the project, MetricStream experts and consultants will work with the company’s supplier governance team through a series of workshops to develop supplier communication templates, standardized protocols, and comprehensive self-assessments and surveys. MetricStream’s helpdesk services will offer the company’s supplier governance team with technical and support services as it relates to gathering exhaustive information from the suppliers related to smelter lists, country of origin of materials, and products that contain conflict minerals, as well as administering and developing reports summarizing risks from supplier surveys and self-assessments.

The MetricStream solution will store the company’s supplier information in a secure, centralized repository that maps the data to various products, components and business units. Employees will gain real-time visibility into supplier risk profiles, survey reports, supplier responses, communication trails, and the status of the overall conflict minerals management program, which culminates with the filing of Form SD in accordance with Dodd-Frank Section 1502. The solution will enable cross-department coordination and collaboration, allowing for roll up of all conflict minerals data and reporting to the corporate level, where it can help guide the company’s strategic decision-making processes.

MetricStream’s conflict minerals software solution is a Zaplet application available on, an open and flexible cloud platform and ecosystem for building and distributing specialized and niche GRC applications that address specific industry challenges.
