September 23, 2014 | Palo Alto, California: MetricStream, the leading provider of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) solutions today announced that it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the “Leaders” Quadrant of the 2014 Magic Quadrant for Business Continuity Management Planning (BCMP) Software1

Vasant Balasubramanian, Vice President of Product Management at MetricStream said, “MetricStream is constantly pushing the boundaries of technology to develop a truly intelligent, integrated, and innovative cloud-based solution for BCMP. We believe our position in the Leader’s Quadrant of the Gartner Magic Quadrant is another validation of our success in this market. Leading companies from across countries and industries are increasingly choosing MetricStream’s BCMP solution because it not only helps them strengthen the full range of their business continuity processes, but it also embeds BCM within the larger context of operational risk management, regulatory compliance, and GRC.”

With multiple instances of natural disasters, cyber-threats, and supply chain disruptions, as well as increasing regulatory requirements, companies are strengthening business resilience capabilities by designing sophisticated and comprehensive business continuity programs and empowering BCM teams with powerful tools that use modern and innovative technologies. Capabilities such as configurable risk scoring algorithms and methodologies, work-flow based conditional information routing, and mapping of distributed organizational structures and BCM processes make MetricStream the preferred solution for organizations as they seek to become more well-equipped and agile.

According to Gartner, “Progressive BCMP tools are moving away from a static recovery plan document to a real-time, interactive experience for planning, exercising and plan invocation activities, as well as strong data analytics and visualization for BCM program management that can be integrated into an operational risk management program.”

MetricStream’s BCM solution streamlines the entire process of assessing business continuity risks, conducting a Business Impact Analysis (BIA), mapping Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) dependencies, developing and testing an incident response and communication plan, and enabling crisis and incident management. The solution also strengthens compliance with multiple BCM standards such as ISO 22301, ISO 27001, FFIEC, ITIL V3, DRII, and NERC-CIP.

If a crisis arises, the solution supports real-time situational awareness by connecting to external sources such as FEMA and US-CERT, and tracking social media platforms to provide emergency alerts and crisis updates in real time. The solution also provides native mobile, offline, and Web-based capabilities to allow program administrators, as well as business and general users to view documents such as BIA, Business Recovery (BR), and Disaster Recovery (DR) plans, call lists, and employee contacts, on their mobile devices. The solution also sends alerts via SMS, email, and mobile channels, and can integrate with emergency mass notification systems to enable real-time communication in the event of an emergency.

The solution can be integrated with multiple other MetricStream solutions for operational risk management, enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance, IT-GRC, incident management, and more – all on a common, enterprise GRC platform. This integrated approach strengthens data-sharing, collaboration, and analysis across BCM and GRC programs.
